Hilary Lawson is Vice Chair of the Forum, as well as a philosopher and broadcaster. After graduating from Balliol College Oxford with a 1st in PPE he began a DPhil on problems of self-reference. His subsequent philosophical career has been driven by attempts to overcome the crisis in meaning that self-reference can be seen to engender.<\/p>\n
His books include\u00a0Closure<\/em>, an attempt to offer a ‘post-modern metaphysics’;\u00a0Reflexivity: The Post-Modern Predicament<\/em>; and Dismantling Truth: Reality in the Post Modern World<\/em>.<\/p>\n As a documentary filmmaker, and broadcaster, Hilary has been responsible for a number of award-winning programmes, and is the founder of TVF a leading independent production company.<\/p>\n Hilary is the founder of the Institute of Art and Ideas (IAI), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to changing the cultural landscape through the pursuit and promotion of big ideas, boundary pushing thinkers and challenging debates.
