Alan Montefiore was a Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford for 30 years, and is now an Emeritus Fellow of that College. He has worked and published on a wide diversity of topics, including moral and political philosophy, contemporary French philosophy, philosophy of education and, more specifically, on issues of identity and responsibility.<\/p>\n

His most recent book is entitled A Philosophical Retrospective: Facts, Values and Jewish Identity<\/em> (Columbia University Press, 2011)<\/p>\n
